Same-Sex Wedding & Civil Partnership Photography

Prior to shooting our first civil partnership ceremony a few years ago we were a little nervous about how it would go and the kinds of photographs and poses which would work with a same sex couple. Obviously doing the pre-wedding shoot helped in terms of building up the relationship between us and the couple and both sides were soon able to relax and be themselves. It soon became obvious that we shouldn’t have worried – the ceremony and the whole event is about two people who are deeply in love and want to celebrate their love with their families and friends. The gender of the participants is not an issue when it comes to capturing wonderful images of people in love and having a fantastic time.

Ben and Marc (photos below) chose the splendid Coworth Park near Ascot for their Civil Partnership ceremony. The wonderful colours of the meadow made a fantastic backdrop to the images of the couple walking through the grounds.

The Tower at Coworth Park is an ideal location for smaller ceremonies with lovely grounds directly outside and the Barn restaurant available to relax in while the Tower is set up for the sit down meal. Members of Marc’s family had flown in from the US for the ceremony and both families enjoyed the reception drinks and grounds in the warm summer sunshine.

Speeches at civil partnerships and weddings can be very joyous and emotional events. It is our pleasure to capture the expressions on the faces of the couple, their families and friends as the stories are told with tears of joy and looks between people which often say more than words.
